Day 01: Arrive Auckland

Welcome to Auckland! Upon arrival at the airport, proceed to the car rental counter and collect your car and documentation.

Day 02: Auckland – Rotorua via Waitomo

After breakfast this morning, travel across the rich Waikato Farmland for Waitomo. Enjoy a guided tour of the Waitomo Caves and a boat ride through the famous Glow-Worm grotto. Enjoy twinkling lights emitting from the ceiling like stars in a dark night. Later enjoy guided tour of Hobbiton Movie Set featured in The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit films. Get lost among the hobbit holes and visit the Green Dragon Inn, the mill and the Party Tree. Listen to spell-binding tales of how Hobbiton came to be before arriving at Rotorua.

Day 03: Rotorua

After breakfast, proceed to Agrodome to witness the Agrodome Agricultural Show, where you will be entertained by New Zealand’s performing sheep and other attractions. Later, proceed to visit Te-Puia Thermal Village known for its hot springs, geysers and boiling mud pools. Watch the Maori craftsmen at work and learn about the traditional arts of carving and weaving. Also visit, Rainbow Springs to see the flower and fauna of New Zealand. The evening is at leisure.

Day 04: Rotorua – Wellington 

After breakfast travel to Lake Taupo before heading south through the Central Plateau to Wellington, New Zealand’s capital city. Wellington is easily the country’s most happening place, stretched around its waterfront and sheltered by houses clinging to lush green hills. Some of the country’s best art galleries, restaurants, microbreweries, and coffee outfits make their home here, and fashion is diverse; from the high fashion of Lambton Quay to the op-shops of Cuba Mall.

Day 05: Wellington

Today morning, enjoy a sightseeing tour of Wellington on your own. Later tour the Te Papa Museum New Zealand’s national museum, renowned for being bicultural, scholarly, innovative, and fun.

Day 06: Wellington – Christchurch 

Return your rental car this morning in Wellington to take the Interislander Ferry to Picton. Travel through the Marlborough Sounds and enjoy the scenic view from the ferry. On arrival in Picton, collect your rental car and continue through the Blenheim and Kaikoura to reach the ‘Garden City’ of Christchurch

Day 07: Christchurch – Dunedin

Depart from Christchurch this morning travel across the Canterbury Plains to reach Scottish influenced Dunedin, renowned for the local wildlife and Otago University.

Day 08: Dunedin – Queenstown 

This morning, proceed for a sightseeing tour of Dunedin city on your own. In the afternoon travel inland through the Central Otago towns of Lawrence and Clyde before arriving in Cromwell. Continue through the Kawarau Gorge to arrive in Queenstown in the early evening.

Day 09: Queenstown

After early morning, depart for JUCY Milford Sound Cruise. This famous cruise gives you an opportunity to see Mitre Peak which is just out of the water and mile high. Go exploring with a nature guide in the tender vessels and kayaks. You may see fur seals lazing on the rocks and lots of sea birds and numerous waterfalls.

Day 10: Queenstown – Glacier Region

After breakfast, leave for Franz Josef and travel via Lake Wanaka and through the historic Haast Pass, gateway to the World Heritage Westland National Park. Continue up the West Coast past spectacular mountain ranges, native forests and lakes to the glacier region of Franz Josef and Fox Glaciers. On arrival enjoy Glacier Hot Pools.

Day 11: Glacier Region – Christchurch 

After breakfast, check-out of the hotel and drive to Christchurch. Upon arrival at the hotel, check-in and enjoy your day at leisure. You can opt for Punting on Avon River. Explore the tranquil side of Christchurch with a classic boating, or punting, experience on the beautiful Avon River. A punter provides informative commentary as he or she rows you and your companions past the city center and Christchurch Botanic Gardens in a narrow boat.

Day 12: Depart Christchurch

After breakfast, proceed to the airport. Return your car and board your departure flight back home. (B)
